General precautions for working at heights

1. Personnel working at heights must be in good health. Those who suffer from mental illness, epilepsy, hypertension, heart disease and other diseases that are not suitable for high-altitude operation as identified by doctors are not allowed to participate in high-altitude operation. It is forbidden to work at heights when staff members are found to be drinking or in low spirits

2. Work at heights must be carried out only after scaffolding or fall prevention measures are taken

3. When working on the dam crest, steep slopes, roofs, cliffs, towers, suspension bridges and other dangerous edges, safety or protective railings should be installed on the free side, otherwise, workers must use safety belts

4. When working on the scaffold without scaffold or handrail, and the height is more than 1.5m, safety belts must be used or other reliable safety measures must be taken

5. The safety belt should be checked before use, and the static load test should be carried out regularly (every 6 months); Rubber and metal materials are generally specified as dumbbell. The test load of the sample is 225kg and the test time is 5min. After the test, check whether there is deformation, fracture and other conditions, and make test records. Unqualified safety belts should be handled in time

6. The hook or rope of the safety belt should be hung on a solid component or a steel wire rope specially used for hanging the safety belt. It is forbidden to hang on moving or unstable objects

7. For high-altitude operation, the faster running speed of the testing machine should be the rule to use the tool bag. Larger tools should be tied to solid components with ropes. It is not allowed to put them randomly, so as to prevent accidents from falling from high altitude

8. When working at heights, except for relevant personnel, no one is allowed to pass or stay under the workplace. There should be a fence or other protective devices under the workplace to prevent falling objects from hurting people. If you work on a grating platform, you should lay wooden boards to prevent tools and equipment from falling

9. It is not allowed to throw tools and materials up and down. They should be hoisted down or up after being fastened with ropes, so as to avoid hurting the staff below or damaging the scaffold

10. When the upper and lower layers work at the same time, a tight and firm protective partition, canopy or other microencapsulation separation facilities must be set up in the middle. Workers must wear safety helmets

11. In case of strong wind of level 6 or above, rainstorm, thunder, fog and other bad weather, outdoor work at heights should be stopped

12. It is forbidden to work on unstable structures (such as asbestos tile roofs). In order to prevent false registration, warning signs should be hung at the necessary places of this structure
